Martin lives in West London England and has been playing guitar since the age of thirteen. Early influences were rock-metal oriented and would include Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Jake.E.Lee and Zakk Wylde.

While at school, Martin met and started jamming with Charlie and Nick. All three would develop their interests together, meeting up during breaks and after school to practice the latest riffs from bands like Annihilator, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth and King Diamond.

At the age of fifteen, after some initial lessons at school and not much success, Martin sought out local guitar master Robert McChesney with whom he studied for three years. Robert proved to be one of the most important early influences, a brilliant teacher who broke down and de-mystified the modern-rock techniques as well as instil confidence and focus.

Live experience started at the age of eighteen with the creation alongside best friends Nick, Charlie and Dave Conti (bass), of Angelstorm, a band specialising in covering the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Crimson Glory, Queensryche and King Diamond.

After completing a diploma at the Guitar Institute of Technology in 1992, Martin went on to further his studies with Jazz-Metal pioneer Shaun Baxter (www.shaunbaxter.com), where he extended his expertise in the modern rock styles as well as study jazz improvisation, which was becoming another area of interest. Influences at this stage were heavily drawn from the metal and fusion guitar-instrumental scene, notably Greg Howe, Allan Holdsworth, Brett Garsed, T.J Helmerich, Scott Henderson and Tony Macalpine amongst others.

After a number of years playing in a variety of different bands sometimes including Nick and Charlie, doing session work, and developing a fast growing teaching practice, in 1998 Martin met up and started a lasting friendship with frontman Jos Geron who happened to live opposite!! In 2002, along with Charlie, the three started to sketch out pre-production for the debut “Reality Dysfunction”, At this time Martin was becoming more interested in recording and production, and raced to gain skills and equipment in order to keep the exciting new project “in-house”, for the sake of convenience as well as the preservation of creativity. Martin met up with Dave Marks on a studio session in West London and when the pre-production demo was complete, both Dave and Nick were invited to give their input.

Now one of West London's busiest private guitar teachers, Martin has written for international best seller “Guitar-A Complete Guide For The Player”, published in 2002 and is currently on the staff at the Guitar Institute, where he specialises in modern rock techniques.
